Mahvash was born in Tehran, Iran, into a literary family. She began writing poetry at an early age. By the time she left Iran at the age of eighteen, she was already published and nationally recognized. Mahvash moved to Montreal, Canada, where soon after she met her husband, married and started her family.
As a wife and mother she followed her husband's career as an architect for the United Nations. For years they lived and traveled through Africa and Europe. It was during this time that she began to paint the story of her life with her husband and son. Her brightly colored paintings evolved into playful multi-depictions of her daydreams about playing house. These warm, honest, familialr scenes of everyday life eventually brought her notice and success as a painter. Her openness and deep gaze into a woman's soul have given her a following of devoted fans.
Today Mahvash Mossaed is an internationally recognized artist whose work has been exhibited in different museums and galleries in China, Korea, Africa, Canada, France, Italy, and jermany, and extensively throughout the United States. Her work has been published in many periodicals, and has been the cover for multiple art books . Her published work has been distributed successfully for many years throughout the United States and internationally.
Mahvash currently resides in Irvine, California, with her husband, where she continues to paint and write.
